Galatians Discussion Questions
Part 4: Ragamuffins
Pastor Rick Henderson March 8-9, 2025
The study guide is designed for your individual use throughout the week to get you thinking about the Bible passage and offers ideas for spiritual practices you might consider trying. These discussion questions are designed to help you further process aspects of the passage, as presented in the sermon, with your group.
As a refresher, begin by reading Galatians 3:22-4:7 (pg. 23 of the guide).
- Read through Galatians 3:22–4: Discuss what excites, confuses, or fascinates you in this passage. [Note: the sermon content didn’t include everything that was in the study guide this week.]
- Early in the message, it was said that how we read Scripture is even more important than what we read. What does that suggest to you as it relates to today’s passage?
- The Law revealed humanity’s need for the Savior to be revealed. Pastor Rick said, “Good news is grounded in God’s ability to keep His promise, not our ability to perform morally or religiously.” How have you experienced this statement to be true? Is your default way of life, though, oriented towards security in the faithfulness of God or a need to impress Him or others by your moral/religious performance?
- Galatians 3:28 contains one of the clearest affirmations that all people are equal in Christ in all of Scripture, and yet most churches still struggle to perfectly reflect this equality across racial/gender/socio-cultural lines. How would you respond to the question “Is it really possible for people from different ethnicities and cultures to be united in one church?”
- What else from this weekend’s sermon or study guide content do you want to discuss?
- What has your experience with the spiritual practice suggestions been like in these first 3 weeks? What might you choose this week from pages 26-27 in your study guide?
- What would you like your group to be praying for over the coming week?
